IV Moderate Sedation

There are a few steps that patients need to take prior to IV Sedation.  First, you should not eat or drink anything at least 8 hours prior to surgery.  We usually tell our patients not to eat anything after midnight the night before surgery.  Some light drinking of water is permissible.  Abstain from smoking 12 hours prior to surgery.

You will need someone to accompany you to the surgery and drive you home after treatment is completed.

On the day of surgery, do not wear any jewelry, or contact lenses. If you regularly take medications, discuss those with the doctor at your consultation or a few days prior to ensure that they are approved prior to surgery.

Wear loose fitting clothing so that we do not have to struggle taking tight fitting clothing off of you.
