Throughout the medical field, a biopsy is simply the removal of a tissue sample to determine if it is diseases. In dentistry, teeth, bone, and gums can be sent for biopsy. The role of a biopsy in the dentistry and any other medical specialty is to diagnose the disease process that is evident at a given site. 

If you have unexplained lesions in your mouth, they need to be examined by our office. These lesion are usually not cancer, but they need medical attention nonetheless.  We will be able to determine quickly if a biopsy is even required.
